Brentwood, Tenn. – Monday, 14 April
It was a commanding night of soccer for Ravenwood High School as both the Junior Varsity and Varsity boys' squads secured emphatic victories over Christ Presbyterian Academy (CPA), putting on a display of technical brilliance, attacking flair, and resolute defending at home. The JV side lit up the pitch with a 5-0 dismantling of CPA, while the Varsity team followed up with a composed 2-0 result, maintaining their winning momentum.
Junior Varsity: Ravenwood 5 – 0 CPA
The JV match was a masterclass in possession football and relentless pressure, with Ravenwood dictating the tempo from the opening whistle. Though the scoreboard remained untouched for much of the first half, it was not for lack of chances.
Justice Sullivan (#23) nearly opened the account early on, directing a header just wide off a Jonathan Daniel (#16) corner. Moments later, the lively Connor Mooney (#11) weaved through defenders with flair, teeing up Thomas Maierhofer for a deep attempt that sailed just over the crossbar. Canon Moss (#12) and Daniel Rosas Guerra II (#2) displayed excellent chemistry throughout the match, combining for several dangerous moves including a one-two that nearly broke the deadlock.
It was, fittingly, a piece of quick interplay and vision that led to the opener—Thomas Maierhofer chesting down a CPA clearance to Moss, who flicked it to Mooney. Mooney found Rosas Guerra in stride, who slotted the ball calmly into the bottom left corner: 1-0 Ravenwood.
That goal unleashed a flurry of attacking prowess. Sam Lenning (#3) added a second after Mooney danced upfield and delivered a deft touch for the finish. Lenning struck again soon after, fed by Nic Pinto (#10), to make it 3-0 before the break. CPA looked rattled, and though their keeper made several key saves, the wave of pressure was relentless.
The second half saw Ravenwood pick up where they left off. Andrew Newman (#8), AJ Jacks (#25), and Charles O'Neal (#13) all tested the CPA backline. Jackson Dombrowski (#19) rattled the crossbar with a thunderous strike, while Sullivan and Klose (#9) each came close to scoring from corners.
Rosas Guerra would not be denied. Latching onto a pass from Moss, he nutmegged the CPA goalkeeper for his second of the match. Then, with minutes to spare, a brilliant sequence between Klose and Rosas Guerra ended with the latter completing his hat trick—his second of the season—by coolly finishing from close range to seal the 5-0 triumph.

If the JV match was a showcase of flair, the Varsity side brought the clinical edge and professionalism befitting a team eyeing postseason aspirations.
Ravenwood struck early through a lovely bit of build-up play. Cal Bettencourt (#17) picked his moment perfectly, threading a pass through to Hunter West (#9), who made no mistake slotting home to give the Raptors a 1-0 advantage.
CPA sought to respond with a spell of possession, but were met by a disciplined Ravenwood backline, snuffing out threats before they could materialise. In midfield, Bas Swartz (#19) bossed proceedings with vision and tenacity—and it was Swartz who capped the scoring with a well-taken goal, putting Ravenwood 2-0 ahead and all but dashing CPA's hopes.
The match tightened in the closing minutes, but Ravenwood remained composed, closing out the fixture with authority and yet another clean sheet.
