TSSAA STATE GOLF RESULTS

The Ravenwood boys golf team entered the second round of the Large Class tournament trailing Farragut by just one stroke (301-300).

However, Tennessee commitment Lance Simpson shot a tournament-low 64 on Wednesday (131 overall) to clinch the individual title and help his team earn the state championship. Farragut combined to shoot a seven-over 583 – 12 strokes better than Ravenwood's 595.

Seniors Colin Alexander (147, tied for 10th) and Collier Thompson (148, tied for 12th) finished in the top 15 for the Raptors.

"When you look at past performances at this tournament, there was a number we felt like we had to shoot. And we shot that number," Ravenwood coach Teddy Craig said. "Unfortunately, Farragut was just better. I'm proud of our performance, the effort and the score, but we just ran into a buzz saw this week."
