Saturday was another fast and fun day for Ravenwood's Lady Raptor XC teams. Both squads finished in the top ten at the MSCCA Voyles Classic, with 15 girls running their fastest 5K ever.
Ashlyn Twyman led the varsity girls for the second straight meet, clocking a 20:05. Hadar Biger, Hannah Kang, and Kennedy Carothers also ran their PRs and broke 21:00, making this the fastest average time for Ravenwood's girls since 2022. Lily MacDonald, Tiffany Rocha, and Lily Turner rounded out the top seven, as the girls placed 9th out of 50 teams.
Not to be outdone, the JV girls had their second top three finish of the young season, led by sophomore Ashley Yeung's 22:00. Ivy Blanton, Sylvia Fikri, and Addison Boggs all broke 23:00 to smash their previous PRs. Mae Sheehan, Charlotte Specht, and Channing Brown also finished top seven.
"This is such a fun group to coach," says Coach Mueller. "They are always doing nice things for each other and genuinely want to see each other succeed. We have three amazing captains but we have lots of other girls who lead by working hard, being kind, and sharing Tik Tok dancing skills. I am so thankful for all of them."
After a short training week the girls will head to Huntsville for the Southern Showcase September 13 and 14.
