The Ravenwood Raptor Boy's Tennis Team beats Collierville 4-3 in epic style to win the 2021 TSSAA Large Division State Championship.
In singles at Nos 1, Ravenwood 3 Star recruit Patrick Delves started the match off by defeating Ajay Arul 6-3, 6-2. The match featured Delves playing an aggressive style of tennis against previously undefeated Arul. Davis Eastham and Tanner Wright both defeated their opponents for Ravenwood to go up 3-0 in the match. In the Eastham match, he was able to pull out the clutch win 6-7 (2), 6-0, 7-6 (6).
Ethan Eisenhauer and Jackson Stone lost their singles matches for the match to tighten the tilt to 3-2. Stone went to a third full set only to lose 4-6, 6-3, 5-7.
The match would come down to doubles play.
Ravenwood Nos 2 doubles of Delves/Eastham lost to Ranjay Arul/Aneesh Achanta 3-8. Arul/Achanta jumped out to a quick lead and Delves/Estham were not able to regain control of the match
Ravenwood Nos 1 doubles of Jackson Stone/Ethan Eisenhauer defeated Ajay Arul/Tristian Kelly 8-5. At 7-5, Jackson Stone slammed home four epic serves to close out the Ravenwood win.
Congratulations to the entire team bringing home the first Tennis State Championship since 2018.
