The Dobyns Bennett volleyball team topped Ravenwood 20-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-17 in the first round of the Class AAA State Volleyball Tournament at MTSU in Murfreesboro.
Ravenwood stuns in epic rally to stay alive, Elimination Round 1
If there's one thing to take away from the opening day of the Class AAA State Volleyball Tournament, it may just be to never count out the Ravenwood girls.
The Lady Raptors stayed alive Tuesday, rallying to stun Cookeville in five sets – 27-25, 18-25, 25-16, 19-25, 20-18 – and leave those still in attendance at the Murphy Center on MTSU's campus shaking their heads in disbelief.

The Ravenwood girls were finished. They were out of gas and on the brink of elimination trailing the Lady Dragons 13-6 in the fifth-and-deciding set, you know, the one played to 15. Somehow, they unified and stormed back to capture a 20-18 victory and advance to play Wednesday.
Ravenwood Wins First Game of Wednesday, Elimination Round 2
Ravenwood started Wednesday action off at 10 AM in MTSU's Murphy Center with a win over Collierville 3-1.
The Raptors had a close, tough fought set one, winning 25-21. They won set two 25-19. In set three they pulled out to an early lead, but fell 25-19. In the fourth set they quickly established a lead and never looked back, winning 25-15 to advance.
With the win Ravenwood next plays t Houston at 2:30 in Murphy Center.
Ravenwood falls to Houston in the 3rd round of the elimination bracket.
After several valiant efforts and showing a lot of heart in a grueling elimination bracket, the Lady Raptors ended their season against Houston in five hard-fought sets. Ravenwood ends their season in 4th place for DI-AAA.
