Ravenwood Defeats Franklin 2-1!

In a game that will go down in the soccer history books as The Battle of Franklin 2.0, the Lady Raptors held it together against the Rebels to come out victorious! Both teams entered the match undefeated for the season and neither was ready to give up that title. It was a fast-paced game with Franklin scoring first in the first half. Despite several attempts, including a few missed set-piece opportunities, the Lady Raptors could not come up with the equalizer and went to half-time one goal down. The Raptors came out of the half determined and it was Anna Augustini that scored the equalizer tying the game at 1-1. Faith Vanston and the Raptor defense held strong as the Rebels worked hard to take back the lead. It was all for not, and in the 66th minute Junior Mia Fraser sent off the shot that was heard across Williamson County giving the Raptors the 2-1 advantage. With 14 minutes to go, both teams left everything on the field and the clock ran out with Ravenwood standing. It truly was a team effort as all of the girls played to the last buzzer. Ravenwood has their make-up game at Summit this Saturday, September 22. Kick-off at 10:00 am. We'll see you there!
