The Independence girls improved to 2-1 in District 12-4A play by overcoming a sluggish start against the Raptors in the early contest Tuesday.
The Eagles trailed early, but closed down the paint defensively and pulled away. Eden Oates scored 20 points and Annie Gibbs added 11 in the victory.
Elizabeth Flynn scored 16 for the Raptors, who managed just 14 points through the second and third quarters.
