Ramer Wins Again, Leads Raptors to Third Place at Voyles Classic

Ravenwood boys cross country team celebrates at Voyles Classic

After missing the first meet of the season, Miles Ramer put any worries to rest by finishing strong to win his fourth consecutive race Saturday morning at the Hermitage. His 15:17 nearly matched his PR at state last fall and his him ranked #1 in the state. Will Johnson joined him in the top ten with a solid 16:06. Caleb West, Graham Franklin, Caleb MacDonald, Robert Hininger, AJ Algood and Andrew Fitch all ran PRs as the Raptors finished a strong third in the AAA division.

The JV team posted 11 PRs and 3 season bests, matching the varsity team's 3rd place finish. Kyle Harkins, Drew Carter, Caleb Myers, Matthew Silva, Grayson Elder, Atharv Mehrotra, and Chris Robertson were the top seven for Ravenwood.

"What a great day!" said Coach Mueller after the races were over. "Seventeen PRs and 3 season bests after another hard week of training shows that the guys are getting fitter and faster and racing with confidence. We need to close the gaps between #2 and #3 and #4 and #5, but freshmen tend to improve a lot as the season progresses, and we have three freshmen in our top seven, so I think we can get it done."

The teams will race again this weekend at the Southern Showcase in Huntsville.
