Pete Mueller is a Nashville native who started running cross country as a sophomore at Hume Fogg Academic High School. He earned All-District, All-Region, and All-Metro honors there and walked on at Furman University in Greenville, SC, where he ran cross country and the 5K/10K in track. He earned Academic All Southern Conference four times and competed in four conference championship meets and two regional championship meets. He coached for two years at Furman, helping the women win the 2000 SoCon championship in cross country and bringing in 17 freshman for the class of 2005. Since coming to Ravenwood in 2008, his cross country and track & field teams have won 61 meets, including 6 region/section titles and 4 state championships. He’s had state champions in the 800m and 1600m, New Balance Indoor/Outdoor Nationals qualifiers in the 800m, 1600m, 3200m, 4x800m, and distance medley relay, the first ever female Nike Cross All-American in Williamson County Schools’ history, and an age group world record holder in the half marathon. He teaches computer science at Ravenwood and lives in Brentwood with his wife Anna and their six children.
