The Raptors boys lacrosse team finished the year an impressive 12-2-1 including a win in the public school division state championship game last Saturday against the Collierville Dragons. Both Raptors losses came to private school division teams, MBA and McCallie, the number 1 and number 2 ranked teams in the state according to MaxPreps.

The Raptors were led this year by a consistently balanced attack that capitalized on scoring chances while limiting those same chances for their opponents. While April saw a string of close games and tight finishes, the Raptors stepped it up for the playoff run, winning all three games by a combined total of 43-18.

Similar to the girls in their own championship run, the boys began with defeating Farragut in the first round. Another Battle of the Woods ensued with the boys matching up against Brentwood in the semi-finals.  The game wasn't as close as the final score would indicate, as Ravenwood took care of business against the Bruins, 12-8. The championship matchup saw the Raptors take charge from the start and never look back, closing out the season with an impressive 18-7 win for the title. It was a year of redemption for the Raptors having ended last season against Brentwood in the 2nd round of playoffs.  The Raptors will be back in the hunt again next year as several Juniors played vital roles in this year's championship run.
