Ravenwood survived a tough battle with Blackman High School Friday night.
After jumping out to a 13-3 lead at halftime thanks to two touchdowns thrown by senior quarterback Brian Garcia, the Raptors allowed the Blaze to have a chance to win the game on its final drive.
A Luke Akers field goal on the Raptors previous possession, however, proved to be the difference.
Senior wide receiver Andrew Mason snagged a 58-yard reception for one of Garcia's touchdowns. Fellow senior Jake Briningstool caught the other from 9 yards out in the second quarter.
Running back Tony Rice had a good night on the ground, narrowly missing the 100-yard mark, totaling 97 yards on 19 carries.
Junior Colson led the defense 11 total tackles. Nine of which were solo.
"Blackman was a very good defensive team and it was a very hard-fought game," Daniels said. "Everyone fought it was very fun to fight and win the game."
