As familiar as are Ravenwood and Cane Ridge with one another, the latest entry far differed from any other in their longstanding rivalry as the Raptors sprint towards another all-too-familiar foe.
The Raptors notched their second consecutive shutout on Friday night with a 35-0 road victory against the Ravens (9-4, 6-0, Region 1 #1 seed) in the second round of the Class 6A playoffs. Senior quarterback Brian Garcia completed 12-of-20 passes for 285 yards and three touchdowns for the Raptors (11-1, 4-1, Region 6 #2 seed), who opened the postseason by downing Stewarts Creek (8-3, 4-2, R5 #3 seed) by the same score of 35-0 last week in the first round.
The red-hot Raptors will now head into a quarterfinal-round showdown against rival Brentwood for the second season in a row. Ravenwood will carry a seven-game winning streak into the contest — dating back to a loss to Brentwood in Week 5.
