Raptors Bounce Back After Defeat at Battle of the Woods

After dropping two games to rival Brentwood, the Raptors improved their record to 7-9 with a big win against Spring Hill.. The Raptors defeated Spring Hill 7-0 on Wednesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Zane Denton struck out Shaun Ballard to finish off the game. The Raptors were boosted by Ben Severance who went 4-for-4 at the plate. Severance singled in the second, singled in the fourth, singled in the fifth, and singled in the seventh.

In the first inning, the Raptors got their offense started when Chase Piotrowski doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run. The Raptors tallied three runs in the fourth inning. Denton and Piotrowskiall drove in runs in the frame. A double by Dawson Hargrove in the third inning was a positive for Spring Hill. Piotrowski led things off on the mound for the Raptors. He lasted four innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out five.

Camryn Kennedy toed the rubber for Spring Hill. He went four innings, allowing six runs on seven hits, striking out seven and walking one. Ballard threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. The Raptors socked one home run on the day. Raum went yard in the fifth inning. The Raptors scattered 11 hits in the game. Severance and Raum all had multiple hits for the Raptors. Severance went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead the Raptors in hits. Hargrove led Spring Hill with two hits in three at bats. Up next: the Raptors host Cane Ridge tomorrow in a non-district matchup at 5:00 PM.
